About the Faculty of Education & Humanities

The Faculty of Education and Humanities was established in 2003 through a merger between the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education.  It comprises five Departments: Curriculum and Instruction, Foundation and Education Management, Language and Cultural Studies, Research and Graduate Studies and Social Studies.

The Faculty of Education and Humanities offers the following undergraduate and post-graduate programmes:

Undergraduate Education Concentration

  • Bachelor of Education (B Ed.) Secondary – Agriculture, Business Studies, English, Geography, History, Home Economics, Literacy Studies, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), Social Studies and Technical Education 
  • Bachelor of Education (B Ed.) - Administration, Early Childhood Education and Primary General

 

Post-Graduate Education Programmes

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Dip Ed.) – Higher Education; Teaching; Educational Administration
  • Master of Education (M.Ed.), with a concentration in ONE of the following:
  • Curriculum; Literacy; Management and Supervision; Measurement and Evaluation

 

Undergraduate Humanities Programmes

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a concentration in ONE of the following:
  • English; Fine Arts; French; Caribbean Studies; History; Spanish; Tourism Studies   

 

Post-Graduate Humanities Programmes

  • Master of Arts (MA), with a concentration in ONE of the following:
  • English; Literature; History

Faculty also offers the following programmes and special courses:
